Nickelodeon has teamed up with Royal Caribbean, and they will be doing a 1st ever Nickelodeon Family Cruise on the world’s largest cruise ship, the Freedom of the Seas! So now you’ll not only be able to go on an amazing cruise on the Freedom of the Seas, and enjoy all that it has to offer, but you’ll be able to see Dora the Explorer, Spongebob, and more!

This cruise will be a 7-night Caribbean cruise leaving out of Miami, and stopping in Cozumel, Mexico; Ocho Rios, Jamaica, George Town, Grand Cayman; and Royal Caribbean’s private island.

In case you don’t know about Freedom of the Seas, besides being the current largest cruise ship in the world, they also have some really innovative things on board. For instance, you can surf on board! Yes, you read that right. They have a surf park, where you can actually try surfing while on board. They also have a really cool water park called H2O zone. They of course have all of the Royal Caribbean standards, such as a rock climbing wall, ice skating rink, and more…but this ship is different! So you don’t miss the comforts of home they even have both a Johnny Rockets and Ben & Jerry’s on board!

Liberty of The Seas

Liberty of The Seas is the latest Royal Caribbean ship to be introduced to the public.  It starts its first cruise in May, and just named the ship’s godmother this past weekend.

This ship is very similar to the previous ship Royal Caribbean introduced, the Freedom of The Seas.  They both belong to the same family of ships, the Freedom class.  Here are some of the features you will find on this ship:

  • FlowRider - the first surf park at sea
  • H20 Zone Water Park
  • Rock Climbing Wall
  • Boxing Ring
  • Ice Skating Rink
  • Johnny Rockets
  • Ben & Jerry’s
  • and more…

The ship will be starting out in the Caribbean, alternating between Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean itineraries.   Both are round trip Miami, with the Eastern itinerary including stops at San Juan, Phillipsburg, St. Maarten, and Labadee/Hispaniola Island, and the Western itinerary including stops at Labadee/Hispaniola Island, Montego Bay, George Town, and Cozumel.

Good deal to the Bahamas

Category: Caribbean, Deals

If you’re interested in traveling to The Bahamas, consider the Cheap Caribbean deal that includes airfare and 3-nights hotel at the Sheraton Grand Bahama Island Our Lucaya Resort for $299 per person. I stayed there a few years ago, and it is normally over $100 a night for the hotel alone, so this is a really great price. The hotel is on Grand Bahama Island, and is right across the street from the Port Lucaya Marketplace. The grounds are beautiful!

Today’s Destination: Virgin Gorda, BVI

Category: Caribbean, North America, Travel Planning

Among the top destinations of 2007 is the island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.

Virgin Gorda is the third largest island in the British Virgin Islands and is one of BVI’s top tourist destinations. On the southern end of the island is an unusual geologic formation known as The Baths. It has exotic pools and grottos formed by large boulders on the beaches.

There is plenty of beach to swim, snorkel or go boating. There is a 36 acre park called Little Fort National Park which includes the ruins of an old fort, Fort Point. An area near the fort is called the Aquarium because coral covered boulders enclose a shallow reef where you can dive or snorkel with fish and eels.

There is not much more than restaurants, shops and beautiful scenery, but it’s a great getaway for a relaxing vacation and fun in the sun.
