Mexico
Mexico is an ideal place to head for an exciting or romantic vacation. The prices are very reasonable, and there are many things to do in the different parts of Mexico that can allow you to have a relaxing, or adventure filled vacation – whichever type you are looking for.
There are dozens of major white sand beaches, where you can relax in the sun or go snorkeling and scuba diving. Other fun water based activities in Mexico include whale watching, jet skiing, and deep-sea fishing.
For those whose interests lay outside the water, there are still plenty of attractions in Mexico to choose from. The nightlife in the major cities is colorful and vibrant, especially if you time your vacation to coincide with one of the many festivals that periodically run rampant across Mexico. Festivals here are chaotic and noisy affairs full of loud music, good food and drinks, and imaginative costumes and decorations. Festivals aside, there are plenty of nightclubs in the cities that cater to various interests, from trance and techno clubs to more laid-back jazz and acoustic music bars. Compulsive shoppers and bargain hunters can also take advantage of the many bazaars and stalls scattered throughout Mexico.
For those that are interested in looking into the history of Mexico, there are various ruins that you can visit that are absolutely breathtaking. You can go to Tulum and see ruins that are one of the best-preserved sites in the area. You can also go to Chichen Itza and see various building such as temples, palaces, markets, and ball courts.
Nature lovers also tend to get ecstatic when down in Mexico. Not all resorts are situated beachside or in the major cities. There are plenty that actually set up deeper inland, and these often feature other activities for their guests like mountain or jungle hikes. Some of the resorts are actually situated at or near wildlife reserves, allowing nature lovers to bunk in comfortable cabins in the middle of the (semi-tamed) wilderness. Vacation goers who have visited these places also say that Mexico offers some of the most breathtaking mountain views around.
Some of the resorts can also get quite imaginative with their offerings. For example, there are resorts that specialize in having extremely sedate, relaxing atmospheres for their guests, with everything done in a tropical theme including secluded waterfalls, hot springs, and spas. Obviously, if you're out to de-stress, these are great places to visit! There are other resorts that even go so far as to include more esoteric attractions like yoga and Zen meditation rooms, stargazing domes, and grass labyrinths.
If you are looking for romance, the many possible vacation activities there can be easily tailored to suit a vacationing couple's romantic inclinations. There are even some resorts scattered throughout Mexico that actually have staff members whose specialty is to help their guests to prepare for various endeavors of the heart like anniversary celebrations, marriage proposals, and having a honeymoon you will never forget.
One example of this includes one resort manager who helped a guest acquire a white horse just so he could ride up to his girlfriend on the beach as a "white knight" and sweep her off her feet. Another arrangement included an unorthodox nighttime beach wedding that was highlighted with a large infinity symbol etched in the sand and filled with kerosene. As the young couple finished their marriage vows, the best man lit the symbol with one of the nearby torches for a dramatic finale. These are just some of the things that have gone on in Mexico that shows how the resorts go out of their way to help their fellow hopeless romantics.
Another popular place is the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort in Puerto Vallarta. Vacation goers who appreciate grand views of mountains, oceans, and sunsets frequent this resort. While it is true that no two sunsets look alike, many vacation goers claim that the views from the suites in the Sheraton Bouganvillas offer some of the most breathtaking sunsets they've ever witnessed. The suites are set up with patios that allow for plenty of fresh air and let guests dine while enjoying the view. The open-air patios also make for uniquely perfect candle light dinners, with the only other illumination coming from the moon and stars overhead.
The Four Seasons Resort in Punta Mita is likewise a popular beach resort, and offers many activities for people including snorkeling, scuba diving, and surfing. Its biggest attraction for romantics however lies in 55-foot yachts that guests can charter for romantic cruises around the pacific coast. These luxury yachts are perfect for those who want the privacy and beauty of the open sea around them.
For those who simply want to relax now that they are finally on their amazing vacation, the Villa Del Sol is designed with "kicking your shoes off and relaxing" in mind. The design motifs heavily follow tropical themes, with palm trees, gentle surf, waterfalls, and tropical gardens. This place is also well known for having one of the best offerings of Mexican cuisine around.
The Riviera Maya is one of the prime vacation spots in the world, and is well known for the many activities that vacation goers can enjoy there, from nature tours to hikes to various water sports. However, a secluded little resort in the Riviera caters specifically to romantics. This is the Adventura Spa Palace, a resort for adults only that is designed for romance, where you and your partner can pamper each other in absolute privacy. There are botanical meditation gardens, a stargazing observation dome, secluded hot springs and spas, and even a sheltered labyrinth with perfumed gardens and alcoves where you and your partner can conveniently lose yourselves for hours.
These are some of the major highlights of what Mexico has to offer, and only scratches the surface of what this great place has to offer for your vacation. The only real way to get into it is to head down to Mexico and experience it for yourself. No matter where you go and what you're into, it promises to be a trip worth remembering!
