Liberty of the Seas
Liberating the Vacation of Your Dreams – Liberty of the Seas
A year has passed since the Royal Caribbean cruise lines has launched Freedom of the Seas, the largest addition to their great family of fantastic cruise vessels. Now it seems to be Liberty’s turn to liberate the ultimate vacationer in each of its passengers with its marvelous accommodations, sumptuous cuisines, and endless entertainment befitting of Royal Caribbean’s undisputed reputation.
When Royal Caribbean says big, they really mean way beyond the expectations of its passengers. Freedom of the Seas has surprised the world with its 154,000 tons of seafaring beefiness and Liberty of the Seas is one who is deemed to follow her sister’s standing as the largest passenger ship ever built. Liberty boasts 18 decks filled with fun and excitement for passengers of all ages. With its 1,360 crew members, all of the 4,370 passengers are guaranteed excellent service that will never fail to amaze. She was built in Turku, Finland, in the incredible Aker Finnyards dry dock, measuring 339 meters or 1,112 feet long, and able to cruise to as fast as 40 kilometers an hour or 21.6 knots.
It is comforting to think that Liberty of the Seas has retained much of her sister’s amenities and features – guests of this vessel are sure not to miss the goodies available on the ship. Industry firsts have been replicated here such as the full-sized boxing ring, the surf park, and the H20 Zone for active, water-loving kids. There is the glorious Solarium area, which has a pool that allows you look all the way to the sea with its glass panels. There are cantilevered whirlpools for the ultimate relaxation. Cruise staples are of course available; there is the gym, a barbershop, the spa, and a plethora of restaurants. There are also some added delights such as Ben and Jerry’s. It seemed that Royal Caribbean wanted more people to experience the same enjoyment they would in Freedom of the Seas, making Liberty a true twin of the former.
Ultra Comfort
As one should expect of any excellent cruise, the Liberty of the Seas boasts of comfortably luxurious rooms onboard. All rooms have their own bathroom, a reasonable number of closets, plush beds with 250-count bed sheets, and a phone for use within the ship. Each room also has its own entertainment system with a flat-screen TV for you to enjoy. The Deluxe Oceanview room occupies 177 square feet with two twin beds that can be converted into a queen sized one and has a sitting area plus a 74 square-foot private balcony. The Superior room measures 189 square feet and has a 68 square-foot balcony plus the convertible bed and sitting area. There six types of suites, the Junior Suite, Grand Suite, Royal Family Suite, Owner’s Suite, Presidential Family Suite, and the Royal Suite.
Exotic Destinations
Liberty of the Seas first set sail in 2007. Its destinations currently alternate between the Western Caribbean and the Eastern Caribbean in seven-night cruises that depart from Miami, Florida.
The highlights of cruise includes the Flowrider, Casino Royale, H20 Zone, Adventure Ocean for the youth, the climbing wall, themed lounges and bars, the Ice Skating rink, the Royal Promenade, and WiFi plus cell phone connectivity throughout the ship.
Royal Caribbean does seem to be serious about unshackling its passengers desire to just have fun and relax while on board. With Liberty of the Seas joining their line of splendid cruises, it seems that more people will be freeing themselves from dreary and forgettable vacations and join the ranks of those who will now be acquainted with the ultimate leisure experience.
