Jewel of the Seas

A True Gem in the Ocean - Jewel of the Seas

When you step inside Jewel of the Seas, one of the newest additions to Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s Radiance class of vessels, you will think you are actually in a luxury liner instead of a mass-market cruise. It truly lives up to its name as a gem in the ocean, a sparkler that would exceed one’s expectations that will make your vacation truly memorable. For its sheer beauty, with its ten-story high glass Centrum, Jewel of the Seas can truly be one of the greatest cruise ships among its class you can step on, and this is paralleled by an impeccable service and spectacular features.

So much is packed in all of Jewel of the Seas’ 90,090 tons. No space is wasted on this mid-sized vessel, but enough room is left for that breath of relaxing fresh air needed for any relaxing vacation. It still has its share of goodies found on other Royal Caribbean such as the climbing wall, the stunning solarium pool, the Adventure Ocean for kids, and of course the delectable restaurants. The layout is done impeccably that you would not notice that the ship could house as many as 2,100 passengers.

Precious Feasts

Some of the most amazing components of the Jewel of the Seas are its culinary offerings, which fare impressively to be compared with luxury liners’ cuisines. The main dining room, Tides, offers an ambience that is equally delectable to its menu throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service is just as superb. As an alternative, you can also go to the Windjammer Café for its incomparable buffet with endless selections of dishes most notable of which is the beef tenderloin, perfectly cooked the way you want it.

Beyond meal times, you can head to the Seaview Café, a great spot for the usual snacks like burgers, fish and chips, chili, Reuben’s, onion rings, chicken nuggets and wings. Since it is on the very top of the vessel, you will be snacking with the best view you can find. Why not try the Solarium Café for some pizza and their delectable crepes. Chops Grille is renowned for its steak cooked as you watch in front of their open kitchen. Last but not the least, Portofino, is one never to miss with its scrumptious Italian fare from the prawn risotto, spaghetti, and the best tiramisu you can ever find on the sea. Other sumptuous offerings are available throughout the ship, each one never failing to satisfy.

Priceless Fun

Eating is not the only thing you can do on the Jewel of the Seas, it is packed with various fun activities as well. Start the day with staple games such as bingo, trivia contests, square dance lessons and more. But more surprising are its atypical fare of entertainment options, like a six-ring circus, Broadway-inspired shows at the Coral Theater, movies, musical performances, and the Battle of the Sexes.

The pool is of course an ever-present feature. The main pool is where everybody goes but if you wan to try out a more majestic experience you can try the solarium, roofed by a glass dome and delectable decorated with Thai inspiration with a bronze tiger as its focal point. The deck chairs, with its wooden finish and attractive magenta pads, are excellent for just chilling under the sun. There is also the staple whirlpool for a relaxing bubbly dip.

For health buffs, there is the spa and fitness center that has two stories of the latest fitness equipment and the most impressive treatments. Apart from the usual massages and facials, the spa also offers tooth whitening to boot. There is the usual steam room and sauna plus aromatherapy steam, heated tile lounge, and fog showers. There is a beauty salon for trendy haircuts and luxurious pedicures and manicures. Apart from the up-to-date workout machines, the gym also offers group exercise classes such as aerobics, Pilates and yoga. And of course, there is the climbing wall, the miniature golf course, and a golf simulator.

If you’re looking for a good children’s program, you can be sure that Royal Caribbean has what you are looking for.  The Jewel of the Seas has programs for all aged children, so they will always have someone their own age to play with.  Adventure Ocean has 5 different groups of children.  They separate them into groups of ages 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-17.  So you can enjoy the rest of the ship knowing that your children are having just as much fun as you are!

Jewel of the Seas is indeed a welcome gem to the crowning glory of Royal Caribbean’s line of cruises. So for your next vacation, ask your travel agent to book you to Jewel of the Seas to experience this incomparable cruise of its class.
