St. Thomas is one of the US Virgin islands, and is a very popular cruise ship port due to the beautiful beaches, wonderful shopping, calm waters, and other fun things to do.

While on St. Thomas for the day, you will have a choice of many things to do. You can head over to the beaches, and relax and enjoy the sun. If you would prefer to have a more active day on shore, you will also have many choices. If you would like to go into the water, the calm waters make it a great place for snorkeling and scuba diving. You can also go parasailing, biking, hiking, sailing, fishing, and more.

If you go to the capital (Charlotte Amalie), you will be able to do a lot of duty-free shopping. They have many different types of stores including clothing, liquor, perfume, many jewelry stores, and more.

If you are interested in learning about the History of St. Thomas, there are many things you can see. Blackbeard’s Castle has a mini-tower that you can climb, as well as a few historic houses, which you can tour. You can climb the 99 steps, which were built from the ballast bricks of the tall ships coming from the old world. You can also tour the Haagensen House, which is a restored 18^th century Danish house.

If you like looking at beautiful views, you can take a tram on the Paradise Point Tramway that will bring you 700 feet above sea level, where you will get a spectacular view of the harbor, and be able to look at downtown Charlotte Amalie as well as the cruise ships below.

If on the other hand you are just looking to spend your day relaxing, you can lie on the beach, or go to one of the several spas located on the island. If you have been to St. Thomas before, you can take a ferry to visit another island, such as St. John or another US Virgin Island. Just make note of the ferry schedule, so that you will be sure to make it back in time before your ship sails.

You will be able to do many of the above on tours with your cruise ship, but you will also be able to get around on your own, or take a tour from one of the tour companies once you get to St. Thomas.
