Grand Cayman Island is a beautiful place to visit.  Because of its location, the weather is almost always nice and warm all year round making it a popular stop for cruise ships.  There are many things to do while on shore for the day, which makes a lot of people want to book a cruise that specifically stops at Grand Cayman. 

One of the reasons people come to the Cayman Islands is to go snorkeling or scuba diving off the beautiful beaches. Not only are there beautiful tropical fish to see in the crystal clear waters, but also sunken ships that you can snorkel and scuba dive by.  There are even multiple places on the island where you can snorkel and swim with the stingrays.  While you are on the island for the day, you can have plenty of time to go snorkeling, or scuba diving.

If you want to relax, Seven Mile Beach is often considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Caribbean.   Besides snorkeling and scuba diving, there are also a lot of other things you can do.  You can go to Stingray City where you can feed and swim with stingrays, or you can visit the Cayman Turtle Farm where you can see turtles being raised to increase their population.

You can even go to Hell, which is a city in Grand Cayman, named that because of the jagged black rock formations that look like "hell".  You can also visit the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, where you can see many beautiful flowers, including Orchids.  You will also see iguanas, parrots, butterflies, and more. 

If you don't want to do these on your own, or want to do a few of them, there are many shore excursions that your cruise line will offer that will take you to multiple destinations, so that you can make the most of your day at shore.
