Using Rumors for Long Range Planning? (Disney World Tips – 217 of 365)

Magic Kingdom

Now this won’t work at all if you’re planning a trip within a year or so…but if you’re planning a trip at least a year out, but aren’t sure when to go, consider taking a look at the rumors!

Most of the time, when something is announced that is coming to Disney World, or is changing there, there has been a rumor about it for a while.

Does every rumor happen? Of course not!

But if you see the same rumor over and over again, and it sounds reasonable, it might be worth taking into consideration.

For example, a new Star Wars section was recently announced for both Orlando and California parks.

There had been rumors about that for quite a while.

But if you had been considering going to Disney World in 2015 or waiting until 2017 or 2018 or so…and you were a HUGE Star Wars fan, it might have been something you would have considered, and may have decided to push your vacation back to see what happened.

So no, I am not suggesting that you plan your trip around things that might or might not happen…but if you really aren’t sure when you want to go, this could help you figure out around when might be a good time to try.

Here are 2 places you can check.

The first has lots of rumors and news at all the parks (including the other parks in Orlando that aren’t from Disney), and the second just started a few months ago, but monthly is going to be doing a roundup of rumors.

Even if you’re not ready to plan a trip yet, I find it’s fun to read the rumors and see what might be coming to Disney World!
