Riding the Monorail (Disney World Tips – 92 of 365)

Disney's Monorail

The Disney World monorail is a great way to get around when you’re on Disney property.

Of course, sometimes the monorail can get crowded.

The good news is, if you know how it works, you can often get around the crowds.

Let’s start with the different lines.

There are 3 different monorail lines.

The Resort Monorail stops at:

  • Magic Kingdom
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • The Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC)

The Express Monorail stops at:

  • Magic Kingdom
  • The Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC)

The Epcot Monorail stops at:

  • Epcot
  • The Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC)

If you’re leaving the Magic Kingdom as it’s closing, or it just so happens a lot of people are leaving when you are, you’ll notice that the express monorail line may be very crowded, as most people are probably going to their car.

If you don’t want to stand in line, but are going to your car at the TTC or are trying to get to Epcot, you can always get on the resort line monorail. Sure, it’ll take a little longer since it stops at the resorts, but since it also goes to the TTC, you’ll probably still get there first!
